Making a Difference



As the semester comes to a close, I love that the section of text for this week’s blog post is on Visions and Strategies for Change because it takes us right back to where we began; that what it takes to make a difference is the process of becoming increasingly aware and confident in our ability, and the understanding that it involves a lifelong process of continued education, commitment, and empowerment.  Remember “The Cycle of Liberation” that describes the process that occurs in social change efforts?  This cycle is never ending and can be entered at any point either through slow evolution or a critical incident.  As I think of how the cycle works, I reflect on the personal narratives from our text and also our own personal experiences we have shared throughout our time together this semester.  Through this process of learning and growing together, embracing our similarities and differences, we are preparing ourselves to actively engage in a more socially just future.
